My Background

I am fortunate to be in a successful, happy marriage with the same wonderful woman I met in college. We have been partners in life ever since we were twenty years old. We just like each other a lot. (Love too!) I am a congregational rabbi, author and pioneer in interfaith marriage and family programming. Even before the Union for Reform Judaism ( URJ), formerly The Union of American Hebrew Congregations (UAHC) launched its outreach initiative to interfaith families, I, as the young assistant at Temple Israel in Columbus, Ohio and at The Baltimore Hebrew Congregation in Maryland, began to develop and offer opportunities for interfaith families to find a comfortable place in synagogue life. Innovative education, worship and social activities propelled me to Temple Anshe Hesed in Erie, where welcoming interfaith family members into normative Jewish participation was a way of life. The experience gained in Erie provided the platform for my interfaith work in the Philadelphia region at Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel, and currently in New Jersey at Temple Beth Hillel – Beth Abraham for individuals, couples and families seeking acceptance and welcome.

Here’s more background information for you.
